Taylor Twellman

 

In high school, Taylor was an all-star athlete in basketball, baseball, American football, and soccer. Upon graduating high school, Taylor was offered a contract by the Kansas City Royals in Major League Baseball but turned it down for a chance to play soccer at the University of Maryland. After two years and becoming an All-American, he left Maryland and turned professional playing internationally for two years in Germany followed by being drafted into to the MLS in 2002. Also, in 2002 Taylor made his first U.S Men’s National Team appearance with whom he played until 2008. In 2005, Taylor won the MVP award and MLS Golden Boot and in 2007, he won the US Open Cup. In 2009, Taylor became the youngest player to score 100 goals in MLS. He is a five-time MLS All-Star. Currently, Taylor works as a color commentator for EPSN and ABC.
